Hayes finished fifth in the highly competitive Time Attack 1 group on a weather-shortened course last year behind the wheel of her 2021 BMW M2CSR. Laura Hayes, professional BMW Driving Instructor based in South Carolina, will make her second competitive attempt at the 14,115 summit. Kathryn Mead, 2020 Rookie of the Year, and two-time third place finisher in the Porsche Pikes Peak Trophy by Yokohama division, returns for her third race on Pikes Peak – America’s Mountain, this time switching to the Time Attack 1 division. A retired astrophysics professor from Austin, TX, Mead shares “This race is the coolest thing I have ever done and I’m looking forward to racing in Time Attack for the first time this year.”
